To you, the most beautifulist ugly Girly. Lionsriver Poetic Justice - Ripley to all who loved her. You came to us, and your Dad thought you were going to be his. You had all ready decided that I belonged to you!!! With your Super Slob, your bad breath and stinky bum, it made you even more special. You have left a very big hole in my heart today my Girl, saying Good Bye was so hard and I will miss you terribly, along with everyone you met and slobbed over, they always forgave you!!! Sleep tight my beautiful friend.
Woooahhhhhh!! NEVER thought I would be saying Good Bye to this family member!!! Mr Spartacus, you deserve a person, who can give you what you deserve - a YOU person. Good Luck with him Sam!! Go do me proud, which I know you will my boy!!
The 3 months of Foaling Season has come and gone so quickly at Heritage Morgans. This year we are proud to welcome, Great Expectations - Warmblood (Sennerin x Garuda K) for Owner Mrs Gillian Jones & Raisin - TB (Frosted Grape x Arvico) for Owner Miss Trudi Johnson to the Farm. Two Fabulous Colts, both representing their breeding and both a credit to their Dam & Sires ... and proud new owners!
At this time of year, I appreciate the thought, time and effort of Owners, and to the beautiful foals on the ground at the end of it all. Congratulations to both of you!!! Well that's it!! Another Showing season over for us here at Heritage Morgans, To say that I have come home just a little bit happy is a slight understatement!! When we went to the Western Region Show, we were working on the fact that Enigma was going to be a Hunt Seat horse, well he definitely had other ideas, and has decided he wants to be a Saddle Seat horse!!!
I dusted of my Saddle Seat Suit, oiled the cut back saddle and kind of hoped for the best. I haven't ridden Saddle Seat for years, in fact, I was that much of a chicken, that he only had the Cut Back on 3 times before the Show, come on guys, have you ridden in one of those things!!! Its like sitting on a piece of glass!! Even Ben (Yes, I made him ride in it), politely told me he would stick to a 'normal' saddle!!! Enigma is def a horse that doesn't like to hang around... 10 mins in the collecting ring and IN!!! I sat there and held on and off he went!! He LOVED it!!! He walked away with 1st in Limit Pleasure, 2nd in the Amatuer Pleasure and 6th in the Grand Saddle Championship. On Sunday was the In Hand Classes. He was 1st in Geldings and Champion Gelding and then went on to win The Grand In Hand Championship!! We came home a very, very happy team!!! Pictures to follow!!! 2014 has been such a busy time with Enigma, we have really knuckled down under the direction of our Trainer, Ben Andrew. Ben is an established PSG Level Rider and has always had so much faith in Enigma...and me for that matter!! In the last couple of months, he has really grown up and has started to become established in his work. We went up to Monnington for the Western Region Show, our first time out under saddle. He came home with the Geldings In Hand title, Reserve Grand In Hand Champion, Baby Green and The Hunter Pleasure Title..... this week we have The Europeans, should be fun!!! (??)

![]() Easter Clinic is always something to look forward to, and this year was certainly not different. I always love my drive to Monnington - even tho it takes me 3 hrs to get there! The Wye Valley is always a beautiful place at this time of years, full of Bluebells and babies every where. I must be getting old as I appreciate the views a little bit more!!!! Monnington was the usual busy place and shouts of Hellos came from every where! This years trainers were Lyle & Colleen Wick. The indoor school was packed as usual, with people outside peeking thru the doors. Barb, as per normal, was in the Butt House making her soup and preparing lunch. She is def the hostess with the mostest when it comes to her lunches, very yummy. Lessons finished and John had opened the doors to us all at 'The Big House'. He had prepared an evening of slide shows for us all, depicting when the first Morgans arrived in the UK, which was absolutely brilliant. Hot Dogs and Popcorn was also given to everybody. We had to give his home back at some point and we all piled into the Butt House for Karaoke and drinks. Who needs Britains Got Talent!!!!!!! I think Scott and I very noisily fell thru Trudy's door at 1 a.m with both of us telling each other to shush!! No need - Trudy was up... we were just in time to watch Angela do her Championship class at UPHA being live streamed!! I tentatively say I swopped allegiances as my friend, Daisy Beisler was also in the class. Angela had a great ride coming 5th, and Daisy won The Championship. It was great to be able to watch them ride live. There were a few sore heads on the Sunday!!! People were walking around, a little delicately shall we say!!! My lesson soon came around, and I was on Sonic. I love this dear old boy, but by the time both he and Colleen had finished with me, when I got off, I almost fell in a heap - I had no legs!!! The Easter ride up the Walk was wonderful. Scottie got to ride his first ride on a Morgan - no other than Monnington Unique. I think hes a convert and she def has a new friend!! Every body had some of Johns Home Brew and Hot X Buns!
I got to ride my dear boy Collective Soul back to the yard. I still miss him, but Mels doing a fantastic job with him..... even tho he did get a tad excited on the way back and thought he was an Easter Bunny 'hopping' some of the way home!!!! An absolute FANTASTIC weekend - cant wait until next year!! ![]() One of the best weekends I have had in such a long time!! I still have a very silly grin on my face from my Driving Weekend at Monnington! I had the usual cheery 'Welcome' from everyone Cuppa included. I hardly had time to get changed before Trudy chucked me in at the deep end and started as we meant to go on... I havent (lovingly!!!) nicknamed her 'Trudy theTyrant' for nothing !!! First up was Aura - such a good girl who looked after me and helped me get over my nerves and get into the swing of things. Spencer and Sam were also my 'teachers' and taught me how to tack up for driving. Spencer, I have to add, was rather cruel, and took everything to pieces and made me put everything back together!!! (Cheers Spence but Thankyou!!!!) When we were told to tack up Sonic, I thought it was for Angela or John to drive him - NOPE I was driving him!!! What a perfect Gentleman, and such a pleasure to drive such a fabulous horse - Cat Got Cream lol!! My first day at Monnington ended with a lovely meal with John, Angela, Gertrude Hendriks and her lovely hubby and not forgetting Sam who came with me, and all we talked about all night was - Morgans!!! Sunday came as a bit of a shock - the clocks went forward so morning came a little sooner than normal! Sam & Kassey greeted me with a cup of tea (thank God!!) I have to say Sam, Spencer & Kassey are three of the nicest people I have met in a long time and were very good putting up with the older pupil all weekend!! The weekend was (nearly) finished nicely with the unexpected arrival of Paul, Tina and Loren Lakin. I was so happy to see them and such a nice suprise!! Trudy the Tyrant suited her perfectly on Sunday Morning!!!! My first drive was Monnington Cassanova. Feeling over confident from the previous day, I thought 'this is cool - this is easy, I can do this'! Ohhhhhh nope!!!! Cass is a FABULOUS horse, knows his job, does it well...... and susses people out VERY quickly!!! He sussed me out..... and Yep Traci was brought down to earth with a bump!!!! Trudy took over the reins for me, made it look stupidly easy again and THEN we worked horses!! I loved every minute of my weekend and certainly didnt want to come home. Trudy is a great Teacher, believes in her horses and her Staff. Monnington Court is always a wonderful place to go to - 'Open Doors' at any time by John & Angela. Most of all, I would like to thank Jill and Jon Gosling for choosing me for the Gosling Scholarship. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New happenings for 2014!!!
I am very proud to now be a part of The British Morgan Horse Society Board!!!! Some people must have a little faith in me!!!!!!!!! I am very much looking forward to working with a great bunch of people who are equally as passionate as me about a breed of Horse!!!!!! Miss Vivian and I have won a Driving Scholarship at the Foundation Farm - Monnington Morgans. I am so excited about this, and again, I would like to thank Jill and Jon Gosling for giving us this opportunity! Vivian knows her job, and she will teach and look after me. Congratulations to Mike Geaves, South Coast Manager for Woof Wear, on his purchase of Gold Leyf( aka Lola), our wonderful TB Filly. We wish you both the Best of Luck for the future! Hm Bugatti is available for your consideration, should you be looking for a new addition to your family - more details can be viewed on our For Sales page. Happy New Year every one - even tho Im nearly 25 days late!!! Where does the time and days go? It seems like last week we were busy preparing for Xmas, and planning next years Show Season, well next year is now, and Show season is just around the corner and we cant wait!!! Even tho we are knee deep in mud, the horses look like bog monsters, we are trying not to let this miserable weather (ahem) dampen our spirits!!!!!! It really cant rain anymore!!!!
We are having great fun having Jodie Lister at the Farm for training, she has a mutitude of disciplines to deal with, Showing with Heritage Morgans, Bolt Eventing and Scott McClue Dressage. Both of the lads have qualified for the Dengie Dressage Championships and George has qualified for Badminton - great news!!! Enigma is loving his new vocation in life as a Saddle horse rather than a Stud, and Im loving the fact that he is so much happier as a Gelding. We are very much looking forward to going Monnington for the Easter Clinic. 2014 is definitely here..........bring it on!!!!!!!!!!! What is going on with this weather we have been having of late? The poor horses are getting their Winter coats through one minute, the next they are shedding out again as its far too hot. Ive held off with rugs, but given this week ends weather of torrential rain and winds - I succumbed!!!! Been a busy few weeks, paddocks being sorted out and refenced ready for Winter. Watching Morgan Grand National WC's, working and and....and!!!! We had some sad news - No puppies. Ripley had absorbed her pups, which I was so upset about. Mother Nature decided it just wasnt her time to be a Mummy just yet, so we will have another go with her in the Spring time. On the flip side, I had some wonderful news from the British Morgan Horse Society - I have won a Driving Scholarship at Monnington, our Foundation Farm in Herefordshire. Im so excited about being at the peril of Trudy Conolly, if not a little scared!!!!!!! She, herself, is a fantastic horsewoman when it comes to training horses under harness and Im sure I will learn so much from her. I would like to Thank Jill&Jon Gosling for choosing me for this wonderful opportunity.
I cannot express just how excited I am!!!! Tonight, Ripley has been scanned and confirmed In Pup to Rozeldogue Im Bullet Proof. This lovely girl of mine is now wrapped up in cotton wool!!!! The next 5 weeks will drag!!!
![]() Its so lovely to have foals around, and we have 2 fantastic foals come to join us! Introducing Love Actualy aka Luna (pic top left) & Clyde. Both WB's and very precious. Luna has just been awarded the prestigious BF award of the UK. Shes a stunning filly, and knows it. Into everything and badgers Clyde into playing all day. Both foals proudly owned by the Platinum Stud. What an absolutely fantastic Show we had at the weekend!! So proud of Ruby & Enigma. Ruby is an old pro at this Showing Malarky, Enigma has never been shown in the UK, but walked away with Champion Gelding and Reserve Grand In Hand Champion. Ruby won the Open Hunter and the Hunter Championship Under Saddle, then won Hunter In Hand, I couldnt have been happier. Ruby also had a new partner under saddle - Loren Lakin. Loren had never ridden Ruby before, and we had a nervous 10 minutes, due to classes being pulled forward. The new duo did a fantastic job together, pulling in an impressive 3rd AND Loren was the youngest in the class!! Should I be nervous.......???? Pics to follow.
